Injection Moldig (Preforms)

PET Resin is used to produce PET Preforms, which are then used to blow PET bottles using high pressure and bi-oriented process. PET is food grade plastic and is approved worldwide as being a safe medium of bottling beverages.

PET Preforms are manufactured using a process called Injection Molding. At Partex Plastics this is done by injection machines from Germany - Krupp Corpoplast, SIG Corpoplast and Krauss Maffei.

The resin used to make these performs are imported from Coke or Pepsi approved resin manufacturers only.

Once these preforms are made they can be blown into bottles. This process involves the Preforms to be heated below 90°C using infrared heater. Through the use of a blow mould that is rotating and under extreme high pressure (about 40 bar) the Preforms are transformed into PET bottles of specific size, shape and dimension. If required, approved master batch colorant is added to produce different colors of PET bottles.

Why PET?

The increased popularity of PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) containers by consumers has called for design innovations by the industry. PET containers are ideal for bottling soft drinks, juices and other food products. Some of the advantages of PET containers vis-à-vis other packaging alternatives include:

  • Flexibility in design
  • Superior clarity
  • Easy to handle
  • Shatterproof
  • Pure, inert and lightweight
  • Excellent barrier to moisture, oxygen, carbon dioxide and aroma

Usage of PET Bottles

PET bottles are used for filling carbonated soft drinks, mineral water, fruit juices, cooking oil and other products. Due to their extreme clarity (like glass), PET bottles are always preferred for carbonated soft drinks and mineral water. PET bottles are also very much lighter than glass bottles. Unlike glass bottles, PET bottles will not break when dropped.
